Such tools include color swatches of color order systems, colorimetric tools, or the device-dependent color spaces within the color matching user interfaces in common software applications. This study focuses on examine whether the background knowledge of color spaces affects the accuracy and efficiency of achieving color match with the given color matching user interfaces. The researcher conducted a color matching experiment with mixed experiment design. The between-subjects independent variable is the type of prior training, while the within-subjects independent variable is the type of color spaces. The participants were randomly assigned into one of two experiment groups with different prior training. One group of participants received instruction of the declarative knowledge about RGB, HSB, LAB color spaces; Another group of participants practiced to use the user interfaces of three color spaces to gain procedural knowledge about the spaces. The trained participants carried out the color matching task in which they adjust the sliding bars of the color matching user interfaces to match the given 12 target colors. The color matching user interfaces vary in three different color spaces, RGB, HSB, and LAB. The results show that the group with the practice as prior tainting has batter accuracy (lower color differences compared with the target colors) in color matching. Also, the relatively accurate color matching results are found in the condition of using color matching interface with HSB space. HSIEH,TSUI-JU 謝翠如 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 62 zh-TW
