This study utilizes the Diamond National Model (1990) proposed by Michael Porter to analyze the overall competitiveness of Taiwan’s industrial waste treatment industry, referencing policies and case studies of other developed nations, as well as interviews with industry experts, and lastly, utilizing SWOT analysis to outline internal strengths and weaknesses as well as external opportunities and threats, thereby pinpointing operating strategies for Company Y. This study finds that due to the small scale of Company Y versus competitors in the domain, it is recommended that Company Y build its existing market share while refining its process to increase efficiency. Steady growth will allow Company Y to accumulate resources necessary to fuel future expansion in emerging markets. With this strategy in place, Company Y will establish a firm footing in the competitive industrial waste business, with the momentum to carry it forward.
