It can be seen that the quality of patients’ self-managing diet is crucial to control the stability of serum phosphate. However, it has been conventionally inconvenient to use self-managing diet by using a paper diaries, and the implementation effect is also poor. To cope with this problem, in this study, a mobile-health dietary supported system combined mobile learning with cognitive behavioral therapy for hyperphosphatemia in hemodialysis patients has been developed. A quasi-experiment was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the mobile application. Total of sixty-one hyperphosphatemia of hemodialysis patients participated in this experiment and divided into two groups to compare the purposed approach and the conventional diet controlling approach. Patients were guided to establish correct concept of diet controlling and do self-monitoring to further improve their food intake behavior by the App. Moreover, the patients’ diet behavior and blood biochemical tests during three months were tracked and analyzed. The experiment results showed that the patients with short dialysis years using the proposed approach revealed significantly reduce their serum phosphate level, and enhance their self-efficacy and learning achievement of diet control. In addition, the App can achieve the goal of continuous and frequent intervention by providing personalized diet control help and integrating interaction with nurses, which can help patients improve their dietary control behavior continuously.
