碩士 === 樹德科技大學 === 人類性學研究所 === 107 === This study explores the intimate relationship and marital satisfaction of married police officers. The main purposes of the investigation are to explore (1) their intimate relationship and (2) marital satisfaction, as well as (3) the correlation between the intimate relationship and marital satisfaction. The participants of this study are married police officers or personnel who are appointed under the police personnel regulations or related regulations. Unmarried police officers and personnel and those who are cohabiting with lovers are not included in this study. Snowball sampling is adopted for this qualitative research to select qualified participants who are willing to take part in this study. A detailed analysis of the data collected reveals that the intimate relationship and marital satisfaction of married police officers are above the overall average. Based on the findings of the study, three recommendations are offered in the final part of this paper. I. Advices for married policemen Participating in leisure activities with family members enhance parent-child relationship, and meet the needs of both psychological and emotional aspects. II. Advices for the police Reduce workload and provide correct enforcement cases. III. Advices for follow-up researchers (i) On research subjects Different levels of policemen or intimate relationships and marital satisfaction related facets can be tried, and the related topics are studied and discussed in depth. (ii) On research methods It is suggested that the future research can be combined with qualitative interviews and field observations to verify the qualitative and quantitative data and make the research results more rigorous.
