In addition, this study explored and discussed the difference in leisure participation and job stress among workplace newcomers of various demographic backgrounds. This study conducted an investigation using questionnaires, and recruited workplace newcomers as participants in this study. A total of 329 questionnaires were retrieved, 320 of which were valid. The valid response rate to questionnaires was 97%. Methods used for data analysis included descriptive statistics, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. Results of analyses are as follows: 1. A significant difference in the leisure participation was observed among workplace newcomers of different gender, marital status, position at work, and the length of years of service. 2. A significant difference in job stress was observed among workplace newcomers of different ages, position at work, average length of working hours, and average monthly income. 3. Workplace newcomers’ leisure participation significantly predicted the level of job stress. Keywords: workplace newcomers, leisure activities, leisure participation, job stress
