This study is to investigate the warpage displacement in the X-direction of mouse top cover by using Moldex3D R14 software and Taguchi Method. First, a better gate design was selected by simulation analysis. The experimental results show that the gate design of the fan gate (a=2 mm) can make the improvement of the warpage displacement in the X direction the most obvious. Using the Taguchi Method L8 orthogonal array to determine the significant noise factors. Four significant factors were selected form the interference experiment. Then, adding four significant factors to L9 orthogonal array conduct a main experiment. According to the S/N ratio factor response table and factor response chart, the effects on warpage deformation are ranked as melt temperature, holding pressure, injection speed, cooling time. The significance tests of control factors by use of Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Finally, conduct confirmation experiment and calculate confidence interval to check if the experimental value and the predicted value are close enough. The experimental results show that the difference between the experimental value and the predicted value were in the confidence intervals, which means that the experiment is quite credible under the 95% confidence level.
