Therefore, in order to improve the motion characteristics of the PMSM driven servomechanism, this study proposes a driving control structure that can adjust the PMSM motion characteristics. The control structure designed in this study includes the feedforward compensation control and the motion-characteristics adjustable driving control. In this study, a five-axis machining center is used as the experimental machine; then, modeling is performed and the system parameters are obtained by system identification. In the feedforward compensation control design, the experimental results obtained using the chirp sine command in this study obtained the root mean square value of the tracking error of 0.1358 (rad). In the motion-characteristics adjustable driving control design, the root mean square value of the tracking error decreased to 0.0534 (rad), thereby obtaining an improvement of 60.68%. In this study, the motion-characteristics adjustable driving control is applied for achieving matched dynamic characteristics. In the circular experiment with a feed rate of 5000 mm/min and a radius of 10 mm, the root mean square values of the contouring error and the roundness of the experimental machine were both significantly improved.
