碩士 === 國立臺南藝術大學 === 應用藝術研究所 === 107 === This report showcases the creative ideas I developed at graduate School. It is divided into three chapters; chapter one, “Flare” introduces the materials used during the creative process, specifically wool and fire, It describes the properties and development of those materials, with particular focus on the use of wool and evolution of fire throughout history. At the same time, it also addresses the way in which abstract sentiment and extend associations attached to felted wool impact creation for me on a personal level; In chapter two, “Deficiencies in Life” I analyse the stories I have encountered in life and recount in depth their impact on my own consciousness in an attempt to liberate my inner self and calm the inner emotional waves; Chapter three, “Gazing at the Flames” presents a reflection on negative thoughts and feelings, incorporating semiotics from folk faith and internalizing my own feelings about life as a way of dealing with its vicissitudes. I take my own life as a starting point and attempt to explore its inner processses in an effort to clarifying who I am. This enables me to order my tangled emotions and leave behind issues of self esteem, to find inner calm and accept my true self. Key words： Felted wool, flare, fire, metalwork, pain, monologue
