碩士 === 國立臺南藝術大學 === 藝術史學系藝術史評與古物研究碩士班 === 107 === Handle censer is the one of the offerings instrument in Buddhism, to use in buddha-work ceremony offer to Buddha and Bodhisattva, to guided worshipper procession, survey the preparatory work of Buddhist service, or be a medium for transfer wishes to Buddha when practitioner is meditating. Nowadays, the works of Buddhism handle censer in China, most of them are found in frescoes and sculptures in caves, others are material objects, paintings, and Buddhist sutras scriptural texts. This thesis has ccombine the material objects, paintings, and Buddhist sutras of handle censer before the Five Dynasties in China at the present stage, to view its style, situation of use, user, how to hold, to transmit or not in a buddha-work ceremony, and so on, in a different light. Building on works style carding, and then talk about the origin of handle censer in China, and it how to exert an influence on Japan’s handle censer object, to construct the thread of handle censer before the Five Dynasties in China.
