Exploring the reason of these two performing arts and explaining their characteristics, also describing the text content and the creative motivation of the two works <The Pillowman> and <Here I Love You>, and designs lighting scene that can correspond with the connotation of the work. This article uses two lighting design works as example, there are <The Pillowman> and <Here I Love You> respectively from Martin McDonagh and Lin, Chun-Yu. The former is the work produced in the trend of “In-yer-face Theatre”, the latter is” Dance Theatre” performance which is flourishing in modern European dance. From the perspective of lighting designer on these two types of production, compares the thoughts of the lighting designer on the commonalities and differences in between. Moreover, the researcher attempts to analyze the text content of different performance types to understand the core concepts that the creator wants to express. By analyzing and describing the lighting and lighting transitions of each scene and dance section, to inspect whether the set up will be differed depending on the characteristics of the new text or the form of the performance. Through these summarized and sorted conclusions, hope these would help researcher who is also facing these two types of performance art in the future.
