Six teachers, including male and female, presently employed in Taipei Municipal junior high school were invited to get an in-depth interview. The researcher tried to assemble the feelings and suggestions of teachers under the implementation of Pension Reform by means of semi-structured interviews. The researcher then analyzed the effects of Pension Reform on teachers’ work engagement, classroom management, and career development. According to the literature review and the analysis of the interview data, the results of the study are as follows: 1.Pension Reform has impacts on junior high school teachers’ economy, family, psychology, and work. 2.Pension Reform has a negative influence on junior high school teachers’ work engagement. 3.The delayed retirement after the Pension Reform make junior high school teachers encounter a tougher challenge of classroom management. 4.Pension Reform enhances junior high school teachers’ acceptability of career adjustment. 5.Junior high school teachers’ concern about the retirement system has increased and they have taken several positive actions such as study of investment and financial management, control of daily consumption, and enhancement of health management to deal with the change.
