Using LED lights for projecting the apparent motion and the phases of the moon is based upon the inventions of Dr. Hung-WenCheng. This current model designed for this research embodies a simplified design, an intensified projector, and an optimized user interface. This research seeks to accomplish the following five goals: 1. Simplify the projector’s mechanisms. 2. Design a program for the projector’s mechanisms. 3. Optimize the user interface. 4. Examine the scientific accuracy of the projector. 5. Survey the satisfaction of users. We designed and assembled the projector using a 3D printer. We inserted Central Weather Bureau observation reports into Arduino. The projector would then be controlled by Arduino’s program and thus we could observe if the projections produce the same results as the weather bureau, ensuring scientific accuracy. This teaching aid is able to project upon the celestial sphere any moon apparent motion and moon phases from any date, time, or latitude within recent years by measuring the elevation angle and azimuth. Thus, the teaching aid is suitable for teaching lessons regarding the moon in elementary school science classes. According to the responses and feedback of thirty students from the Center of Teacher Education, most were highly satisfied with the usability and the projector effect. The presentation of the moon phases and whether or not it obtains teaching objectives came in second. Satisfactory with the aesthetics were average. Overall, users were satisfied with the teaching aid and are willing to use it in the future in their teaching and classrooms. Hong-Wen Cheng 鄭宏文 2019 學位論文 ; thesis 78 zh-TW
