Description
Summary:This thesis describes the first incarnation of an automated photometry program AOLP, acronym for Automatic Object Location Program. This program is designed to search through an image and to find, catalogue, and (eventually) classify all objects found. The primary aim is for use in a faint galaxy survey. The program has also proven useful in other areas, such as photometry of globular clusters and relatively nearby, bright galaxies. === Science, Faculty of === Physics and Astronomy, Department of === Graduate
