| Summary: | The purpose of this study is to contribute knowledge of the legal guardians perspective of playing in preschool and the importance of play for childrens development and learning. What they believe play is? Is it just for fun or do they believe that their children develop and learn something through play and if they do, what do they develop and learn? I did a qualitative study in the form of a survey to find out the legal guardians perspective. The result shows that the legal guardians see play as a pleasurable occupation where the children interac with each other. Through playing they process the surrounding world and their experiences. By roleplays and also by playing with toys and other things they like to play with where they have opportunity to try different things and learn how things works. Through play they develop a lot of abilities and skills. === Syftet med denna undersökning är att bidra med vårdnadshavarnas perspektiv på lek i förskolan och lekens betydelse för barns utveckling och lärande enligt vårdnadshavarna. Vad anser de att lek är? Är det lek och bus som många säger eller vad anser de? Och anser de att deras barn utvecklar och lär sig något genom lek och i så fall vad? Jag gjorde en kvalitativ undersökning i form av en enkät för att få ta del av vårdnadshavarnas perspektiv. Resultatet visar att vårdnadshavarna ser lek som en lustfylld sysselsättning där barnen samspelar med varandra och genom leken så bearbetar de omvärlden, erfarenheter och upplevelser och på så sätt utvecklas deras fantasi. Både genom att leka rollekar och låtsaslekar men också genom att leka med leksaker och sådant som de tycker är kul där de har möjlighet att får pröva olika saker och lära sig hur saker fungerar. Genom leken utvecklar de en mängd förmågor och färdigheter.
