Summary: | A mathematical model is presented to describe osteoblast adsorption on calcium-deficient hydroxyapatite, focusing on adsorption rate, cell survival and protein pre-incubation time. The proposed model is fitted to experimental data sets by fine-tuning the parameters for adsorption rate and cell survival. The model was expanded to include cell division. The model produces a good fit to the data, both with and without cell division. The adsorption rate and cell survival increases with the pre-incubation time, but more data is needed to draw a valid conclusion. |
