Through a narrative analysis, the study intend to compare the depictions to show on continuities or lack thereof.Through clarifying the contextual background of the works, the content has been studied through terms of equality, masculinity issues and stereotypical depictions of gender. The study has shown that the depiction of fathers confirm and cement differences between genders, masculinity as a carrier of violence and a correlation in the identification of one’s fatherhood with the exercise of power.
