StormTac för modellering av dagvatten i Sundbyberg : Underlag för kommunens miljökvalitetsarbete

In year 2000 the EU Water Framework Directive was adopted and thereby committed the member states to adopt action and management plans for each country's water districts. The objective is to achieve good water status for all waters by the year 2015 and is a river basin management approach (2000...

The objective is to achieve good water status for all waters by the year 2015 and is a river basin management approach (2000/60/EG). One tool for this is environmental quality standards, EQS. The municipality Sundbyberg has no own water supplies or sewage systems, therefore is stormwater something they can work with. This study deals with the municipality's drain- age areas (Bällstaån, Igelbäcken, Lötsjöns, Madenbäckens and Underverkets drainage areas) and aims to provide better knowledge of the pollutants in each recipient in each sub-basin. With better information they can get further in the task of achieving EQS for water. To receive stormwater flows, concentrations and amounts of pollutants and also identify ma- jor sources of pollution in each drainage area. This study uses the stormwater and recipient model StormTac. The pollutants that is measured is phosphorus (P), nitrogen (N), lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), mercury (Hg), oil, sus- pended substance (SS), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and benzo[a]pyrene (BaP) (product specification StormTac). The results have been compared with EQS and been classi- fied according to the stormwater classification made by the municipally of Stockholm. The results show that stormwater flows differ between the drainage areas where Madenbäck- en has the highest flow and Igelbäcken the least. It also shows that the stormwater is quite polluted and most of EQS is exceeded. The water is estimated to have high content of pollu- tants under the Stockholm Water's stormwater classification. Housing, industry and roads are the land use that seem to account for most pollution of stormwater. Which areas and what type of land use Sundbyberg should work with is still dif- ficult to answer before the areas are studied more. But local disposal of stormwater should be used as far as possible for new development, and possibly as an arrangement of existing buildings and structures.  Student thesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/bachelorThesistexthttp://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:su:diva-120639application/pdfinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess
