Summary:The thesis focuses on junior high school teachers' and administrators' perspectives about recent gender education reforms in Taiwan. Gender education in Taiwan has undergone several developments in the past decade. The most important advance is in curriculum reform along with the 1994 educational innovation in Taiwan. The 'Grade 1-9 Curriculum Guidelines' has been implemented in junior high schools since September 2002 within which 'Gender Equity Education' is listed as one of the major issues that have to be integrated into seven Learning Areas.
