Description
Summary:The naturally occurring evaporitic deposit natron was collected and used by the ancient Egyptians as a desiccating and preserving agent m intentional mummification. Natron is a naturally occurring compound obtained from different geographical areas and would be expected to have a different elemental composition. The elemental composition of individual samples and areas within the sample were measured by two bulk analytical techniques and a laser micro-probe technique.
