Summary:This empirical study explores the expression of face work in a confessional televised talk show, The Jeremy Kyle Show, with the principal focus of analysis and examination on the host's interrogative speech actions towards his invited guests. The data were collected (recorded) from October 2007 to December 2010 and some more recent data were recorded from November 2012 to November 2013. In total, there is a recorded corpus of some 500 shows of one hour each.
