Description
Summary:The research component comprises of a literature review, a research paper and a public domain paper. The literature review evaluates the evidence relevant to older adult-pet attachment, to explore how pet attachment impacts on psychological wellbeing. The research paper describes a study exploring socially isolated older adults' experiences of pet ownership and the impact these relationships may have on their wider psychological wellbeing and functioning. It is intended that both papers will be submitted to 'Human-Animal Interaction Bulletin'. The public domain paper summarises both the literature review and research paper.
