In emergency centres, mental disorders and violence-related injuries are commonly seen and, according to international data, violently injured patients are at-risk for mental disorders. Despite the scale of this problem, little evidence exists, especially from low- and middle-income-countries, regarding predictors of mental disorder and violence-related injuries, and data concerning interventions have not been synthesised.
