Trietsch, Dan McCaffery, Jerry L. Naval Postgraduate School (U.S.) Department of Administrative Sciences Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited. The area of research was to determine a mathematical relationship between the leadtimes of replenishment requisitions and the subsequent net effectiveness of the corresponding items at a military inventory stock point. This thesis determined that leadtime did not predict actual net effectiveness well. However, this thesis did determine that forecasted leadtime closely predicted the probability that an item would achieve a given net effectiveness in the six month time period following the date of the replenishment requisition. Even better correlators with the probability of achieving a given net effectiveness were observed leadtime and the ratio of observed leadtime to forecasted leadtime. 2013-02-15T23:11:09Z 2013-02-15T23:11:09Z 1990-12 Thesis http://hdl.handle.net/10945/27665 This publication is a work of the U.S. Government as defined in Title 17, United States Code, Section 101.
