Description
Summary:Approved for public release, distribution unlimited === This thesis examines the challenges involved in the concept-refinement phase of the acquisition process of a complex system. We investigated the technical feasibility of using the Goal Question Metric methodology as part of the concept-refinement phase of the requirements analysis. Use case analysis and activity diagram modeling were used to analyze the workflow of a generic concept-refinement process. Statechart assertions and runtime execution monitoring were then used to formally specify the process and check for compliance to the process during its enactment.
