Description
Summary:This diploma work presents the life, development of opinions and the work of contemporary Czech poet Karel Šiktanc whose poetry is inspired by middle- Czech village and countryside, especially by its traditions and order. History in the sense of historical facts and events but also capturing traditions and memories through the process of remembering is essential for Šiktanc. The work is focused on the mentioned collections of poems. The goal of this work is to find various images of woman in the poetry of Šiktanc. The image of woman is traditional and it can be divided into a few types and subtypes, the main types being woman-mother and woman-lover. Differentiating into types is supported by citation of verses. The image of woman is interconnected with the Earth, the home-country and earth as soil as well as with memory and traditions.
