Summary:Legal Regulation of the Trading with Greenhouse Gases Emission Allowances Climate change is global environmental problem. It is very likely caused with contribution of anthropogenic greenhouse gases emissions, especially by carbon dioxide. Thus some kind of regulation of these emissions is needed. Environmental law is offering wide range of regulatory mechanisms. Economic tools are part of them and are relatively new and innovative. Because I find very interesting to assess the influence of economic tools upon climate change problem, trading with greenhouse gases emission allowances is chosen as my thesis. My aim was how particular EU implementation works and if it is effective. Second connected aim was how these EU implementation was carried out in national laws. Czech and Slovak legislature is chosen as the most available example. In the first part climate change problem is described, together with its causes and connections with environmental law. Sources related to climate change influencing environmental law in international, European and national law are identified. Further emission allowances themselves and their position in the sources of environmental law were described and at last but not least analysis of benefits and handicaps of particular EU and national implementations was carried out.
