The texts are purposely chosen to be various (e.g. extracts of novels, a short story, myth, poetry, song) and are accompanied with a set of related questions and tasks for pre-reading, while-reading, post-reading and extra activities. The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of the focus group and describes its specifics and their probable influence on school performance (starting lower secondary education, changes in class group, entering the period of pubescence). The theoretical part is mainly focused on the different types of activities divided according to the way of working with the text (e.g. brainstorming, condensation, own creative activity) and function (e.g. anticipation, activation of knowledge). It also deals with interaction patterns and their suitability for different types of activities.
