| Summary: | The diploma thesis "Pastoral service in prison in the context of post-penitentiary care" deals with the issue of re-socialization and reintegration of people released from an execution of a prison and is also concerned with the potential ways of afterward pastoral care. Further it describes the service of prison chaplains, their participation in post-penitentiary care and their role in involving a convict into a church community. It defines some of the problems associated with the individual's reintegration into society. In the practical part it pursues and analyzes the need of some of the former inmates for finding a position within a church community. On the other hand it outlines the ability and willingness of the communities themselves to accept the released inmates. The author concludes with suggesting some partial steps which would improve the possibilities of accepting the former prisoners into church communities. |
