At the beginning of the decade the political and social situation in Italy had changed due to the fall of communism in Eastem Europe, the Tangentopoli corruption scandal, the fall of the First Republic and terrific conf1icts between the italian state and mafia. In addition we have to consider the culminating globalisation, technology and consumer process.
