Title of Diploma Thesis Comparative evaluation of herbal tea mixtures The aim of this Diploma Thesis was to critically evaluate selected commerciallly produced herbal tea mixtures in term of composition and representation of particular plant drugs. Herbal tea mixtures used for treatment of illnesses of airways was chosen for evaluation. The commercially produced herbal tea mixtures were compared with pharmacopoeial and non pharmacopoeial herbal tea mixtures. The most frequently used plant drugs and their effective metabolites, which are determined for illnesses of airways, were evaluated. Then the representation of pharmacopoeial and non pharmacopoeial drugs was assessed and the change of pharmacopoeial requirements for herbal tea mixtures from 1947 to the present day was studied. Herbal tea mixtures were also evaluated from the aspect of their preparation, use and dosage.
