| Summary: | This work deals with hospital medical libraries and information needs of physicians. The first chapter introduces to general medical libraries, and a special attention is given to the National Medical Library, which has a special position in this category. Definition of the medical profession is also included in this chapter. Next and the most extensive chapter focuses on the hospital libraries and research of their present state, which is summarized at the end. The third part studies the information needs of physicians, which are defined on the basis of interviews. The last chapter presents a proposal to improve the current state of hospital libraries, based on comparison the current state and the real needs of the physicians. |
