Title of diploma thesis: The effect of antibiotic treatment during pregnancy on the allergies in children BACKGROUND: The aim of our study was to investigate a possible link between antibiotic use in pregnancy and the development of allergies in children. Next, we tried to locate the current available knowledge of studies of this topic and compare them with our results. METHODS: Questionnaire-based study RESULTS: There were several statistically significant results. Negative effect on a development of allergies in children had: use of antibiotics during pregnancy (p < 0,05), use of antibiotics in first trimestr (p < 0,05), use of antibiotics in the treatment of 1 (p < 0,05) use of antibiotics in length from 2 to 4 treatments in pregnancy (p < 0,05), use of antibiotics in the treatment of 1 in first trimestr (p < 0,05). Positive (protective) effect of antibiotic treatment during pregnancy on the allergies in children has not been found.
