Secondly, I discuss how marxism and essentialism share the same predicament of falling into the `patriarchal trap' of narrowingly defining women's identities, their roles in society, and omitting or undervaluing their contributions. Finally, I give an exegesis of the events of the `Royce-Abbot Affair.'
