Description
Summary:This work is related to the Store and Forward (S&F) technology demonstration mission of UiTMSAT-1 (UiTM's first nanosatellite). The work aims to develop an array of Ground Sensor Terminal (GST) units to communicate with a single nanosatellite with the S&F application. The terminal unit will uplink Earth based sensor's data to nanosatellite, hence requires specific equipment to ensure a successful data transmission. A synchronization method based on Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) is utilised for synchronizing three GST units. The work's methodology focus is on the situation when all the GST units are within the same nanosatellite's footprint. In this paper, the design of the system is simulated with different scripted codes and the result is analysed. This work will help to introduce a potential technique for data transfer synchronization between terminals for S&F application of space-based IoT. © 2021 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
