Femtosecond passively mode-locked Yb-Er fibre laser

We present here results of an experimental study of temporal and spectral characteristics of the Figure-8 laser. The laser itself produces 850 fs bandwidth-limited pulses. Exploitation of a dispersion-shifted fibre at the laser output results in compression of the laser pulses to 250 fs.
