Julia Carpenter is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by Jim Shooter and Mike Zeck, the character first appeared in ''Secret Wars'' #6 (October 1984). Julia Carpenter was known as the second Spider-Woman, later as the second Arachne, and then as the second Madame Web.Julia Carpenter's Spider-Woman made her cinematic debut as a cameo in ''Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse'' (2023), and as a main character, portrayed by Sydney Sweeney, in the Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU) film ''Madame Web'' (2024), credited under the character's maiden name "Julia Cornwall".
