Sonal Varma
Sonal Varma is an Indian economist who is currently working as the Managing Director and Chief Economist (India and Asia ex-Japan) for Nomura Holdings. She is based in Nomura Holdings' Singapore sector as a member of the Asia ex-Japan Global Market Research team. Varma specializes in the analysis of trends in the Indian economy, and is considered to be one of India's top 3 economists. She is also considered the top female forecaster for quarterly gross domestic product (GDP) in India, and her forecasts are often published in media, such as her articles in ''The Economic Times'', Bloomberg, and ''Business Standard''.
