Reconfigurable and responsive droplet-based compound micro-lenses

Micro-lenses are critical components in miniaturized optical devices for imaging and sensing, yet it is challenging to design them with on-demand variable optical properties. Here, Nagelberget al. use bi-phase emulsion droplets to design reconfigurable micro-lenses with variable focal length.
