Elisabetta Sanfratello da Vallelunga: the fulminating simplicitas of a narrator

This contribution examines and analyses the repertoire, style and poetics of Elisabetta Sanfratello, an illiterate Sicilian oral narrator who was able to enunciate a theory of oral storytelling marked by an extraordinary lucidity.
