The regular physical exercises practice is associated to physical and mental benefits in men and women. Effects as mortality and morbidity reductions, lifestyle change, bone mineral density and functional autonomy improvements, and cardiovascular risk decrease have been demonstrated in studies accomplished by several authors. The components of the physical fitness related to the health are the body composition, the neuromuscular conditioning (strength, local muscular endurance and flexibility), neuromotor and cardiorespiratory fitness. From the different types of muscular conditioning that should be performed for life quality improvements, the strength training (ST) have been widely used. Despite the ST research progress, it is still possible to see some trends in knowledge production. For example, a greater emphasis is given to research on prescription variables more closely related to the load intensity, rest intervals, number of repetitions and sets. However, related to the other variables, as exercise order execution is still necessary to elucidate some issues. Therefore, the propose of the present review research is to approach the exercise order effects on performance, strength gains and muscle volume from the different exercises sequences in ST sessions.http://www.uniandrade.br/revistauniandrade/index.php/revistauniandrade/article/view/137Strength gainshypertrophystrength training |
