The analysis was based on secondary data contained in the publications of the Central Statistical Offi ce – “Households budgets” from 1999–2013. The test period was divided into fi ve sub-periods, which enabled the analysis of the directions of changes in the level and structure of consumption. Changes in consumption were determined by indexes dynamics of changes. A decrease was found in the consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables and increase in consumption of fruit and vegetable preserves. There have been also changes in the structure of fresh fruits and vegetables. Reduced consumption of apples was noticed, but increased consumption of exotic fruits.
