Promoter-proximal pausing mediated by the exon junction complex regulates splicing
The exon junction complex (EJC) has been identified as functioning as a post-transcriptional gene regulator. Here the authors reveal that the complex also plays a part in the regulation of transcription by regulating the release of Pol II pausing into transcription elongation.
