Procopius of Gaza and the Water of the Holy City
<span style="font-family: Times; font-size: medium;">In Procopius' encomium of Anastasius, the "holy city" in need of water is not Hierapolis in Syria but Jerusalem, whose system of aqueducts is attested by archaeology and inscriptions.</span>
