The researcher emphasizes the importance of metacognitive knowledge role in the content of cross-cultural competence. Based on the main characteristics of metacognitive knowledge (awareness, intentionality, controllability) the author shows the didactic aspect of personal qualities and abilities regulation in cross-cultural communication. The article presents the methods of metacognitive regulation of empathy, tolerance, readiness for changing prospect, flexibility and self-reflection.
