The reaction of N-(pyridine-2-ylmethyl)pyrazine-2-carboxamide (HL), 4, 4′-bipyridine(4, 4′-bipy) and copper(II) perchlorate leads to the formation of a new copper complex, [CuL(4, 4′bipy)(H2O)2](H2O)(ClO4) (1), The X-ray crystal analysis reveals that it is a mononuclear complex.
