Lateral dispersion is required for circuit integration of newly generated dentate granule cells
Little is known regarding the initial development of newly generated neurons in the neurogenic zone. Here, the authors used advanced live imaging methods to show that adjacent newborn neurons coordinate their lateral dispersion via gap junctions, which is important for circuit integration
