Consequently, the researcher also compares this new model with the assessment model of schema. In this study, researcher uses the data of a plant concept test to explores the advantages and disadvantages of the two models. The main findings of this study are listed as following: 1.The assessment model of cognitive network uses the expected score to replace the total score in the assessment model of schema. The new model is better than the old one practically. 2.The assessment model of cognitive network improves the disadvantages of the assessment model of schema by using the ability parameter of IRT as the ability guideline of students. The assessment model of cognitive network helps teachers to diagnose the learning difficulties of students effectively and reasonably. 3.The assessment model of cognitive network can provides more information of students, such as cognitive diagnose, learning growth between different grades. 4.The assessment model of cognitive network has the advantage of test equating, which helps the researcher to understand the knowledge structure of students. To sum up, the assessment model of cognitive network can provide more information than the assessment model of schema.
