Due to the belief that the proficiency of English amongst students is rather low, coupled with the fact that the content of academic material that is to be taught is rather massive, English teachers try to rush lessons as fast as they can. As a result, students pay little attention to their teachers, and end up doing other things during lesson time. The atmosphere in the classroom is one of boredom, and the resultant rate of student performance is, of course, unsatisfactory. Recently, there have been many changes to the education system, and proficiency in English is now a necessity in order for one to graduate from high school, or to progress on to work in society. The academic administrators in schools are now putting in their best effors to goad students in the proper direction for English study, in order to raise the standard of English in school. The research that was carried out to facilitate the writing of this paper, put to the test the goals of raising the standard of English in school as a whole: High school English teachers participated in the learning orgaization, which did research on the results of students studying English. This research was based on paticipation by twenty three diffferent classes of first year students from National Taichung Vocational High School, numbering nine hundred eighteen students in total. Tests were carried out on two diffent groups, on the departmental level, as well as on students with similar results. The fourteen teachers in the school were also divided into two groups. One group was involved in the learning organization, while the other group gave lessons as normal, the results of the tests on this two groups were compared every month, and interviews were carried out with the various parties involved. These steps were taken to locate a conclusion regarding the assumptions in the experiment. The experiment utilized the analysis of reason, trustworthiness, and repetition as the basis of its research, as well as to find the desired answers: It was discovered, that the more participation that the high school English teachers put into the learning organization, the better were the results of the students under their change 蔡維奇 2001 學位論文 ; thesis 113 zh-TW
