The purpose of this research, using hermeneutic phenomenological methodology is to understand family members’ perspectives to the Learning Family Program. Furthermore, to discuss about their opinions as to how their families operate and what they feel from the actual experiences. This research used methods such as semi-structure in-depth interviews and focus group interviews, in which the interviewees are part of the Learning Family Program. Through in-depth interviews of five women and parts of information gathered from the focus group interviews, the research discovered six themes of family learning experiences. Theses are (1) Facing conflicts with courage is the only way out, (2) Get rid of the entanglement and learn to adapt, (3) Everything will be fine — just get through the bottleneck, (4) A taste of success opens the gateway of learning, (5) Happiness through sharing — integrity through feedback, (6) Find my “formula to happiness” in a learning family.
In addition, from the seventeen members in focus group interviews, the researcher had concluded two main points: (1) Types of learning experiences and (2) Activating the catalyst of change. At the end, some suggestions for the government, the educational programs, the field of family education and people suffering from a certain period in life are provided.
