The approach is based on "teachers'' cooperative action research" model and the subject is one elementary school (twelve classes) in Taipei County. The research result is described as following: 1.Establish school-based inservice teachers'' training model on "natural and life technology" field; it includes scientific experiments, domestic and foreign integrated model and case presentation, group practice and discussion, joint colloquium and feedback, and start trial instruction and observation to improve curriculum. 2.The experiences and outcomes of school-based curriculum in "natural and life technology" field are: (1)instruction: should focus on cultivation of active learning and problem solving ability; (2)teachers: should focus on multiple integrated model to design curriculum, and the reaching of ten basic abilities and segment abilities; (3)parents: should focus on understanding of integrated curriculum and collaborate in the course of teaching. 3.Main strategies of establishing elementary school teachers'' "cooperative action research" model: locate research problem or focus first, collect data, propose research study plan, conduct cooperative review, deliberation, and feedback by utilizing action plan developed by the group and implementation of the plan, in order to solve research problems continuously. 4.Design strategy of school-based integrated curriculum in "natural and life technology" field includes: (1)introduce environmental education issue into the curriculum; (2)employ STS integrated model to design curriculum; (3)apply multiple intelligence to curriculum design; (4)utilize field teaching activities to integrate curriculum; (5)use concept-maps (curriculum arrangement chart) to design curriculum. 5.The possible obstacles in and solutions to designing integrated curriculum in ‘natural and life technology’ field are:(1)use research study to improve ability in curriculum design; (2)start with compact but fine curriculum instead of large scale but unorganized curriculum; (3)utilize teachers’ mutual growing group to resolve lack of self-growing motivation; (4)establish regional alliance to develop curriculum together to overcome the problem of insufficient man power and funding; (5)teachers can use record evaluation, actual evaluation and full-range evaluation to cultivate students'' quest for knowledge. The research study has proposed suggestions to "school-based inservice teachers'' training", "teachers'' cooperative action research" and curriculum design in "natural and life technology", and further offered suggestion on the research target in future standard ''natural and life technology'' field consolidated curriculum design for higher grades in elementary school, include: from guided learning to active learning, focus on cultivation of group learning and presentation skills, from assisting in solve the problem to work together to solve the problem, and use a variety of learning activities to improve students’ ability.
